June Artiles-Perry is a current student in one of Goddard’s UGP programs and is a co-owner of SpaceCoastCarbon, which produces and sells sustainably crafted BioChar. You may recall seeing June’s BioChar in Alumni Council’s Silent Auction in June 2020.
Artiles-Perry tells us that “Biochar is a process by which carbon is inoculated with a poly-culture of soil dwelling microbiota for the purpose of restructuring and remediating soil as well as capturing nutrition and moisture. Biochar can help abate local and global sources of pollution via runoff, groundwater depletion, and desertification.” Learn more by visiting their website: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SpaceCoastCarbon
